Charlotte Jones' Chair

Photobucket

This chair was photographed by Charlotte Jones. I love this photograph and I love the contrast, the angle of the shoot is also beautiful. This shot reminds me of a scene in the Secret Garden where the little girl is crying for her mother, its a sad scene but very pretty scenery. I love all the detail in the leaves and lack of detail in the background and chair, it is a very beautiful photograph I would like to hang this on my wall. But instead I'll stick it on my exhibition wall.

Nichola Goff's Chair

Photobucket

I think this is one of my favorite chairs so far some one has drawn me for this project, it was created by my print technician called Nichola Goff. She created this with green ink with a broken pencil on brown paper, I  love the outcome. The stall is very alien like with it's very long, green legs and the perfect triangle in the middle, the feet on the stall are almost animal like too.

Islwyn Thorne's Chair

Photobucket

This chair was created by a part time student on my course in Glamorgan called Islwyn Thorne. He is an amazing drawer as you can tell by this chair, I love how the chair looks huge, futuristic and very powerful. It's only a few lines and yet it very effective, I love perspective lines continuing past the chair. He did apologize about smudging some of the lines but I really like the smudges it shows that he is human, and even though it is a perfect chair people are not perfect.

Susanne Westphal's chairs

Photobucket

Susanne Westphal is a German designer who has created these amazing chairs made from wool. Searching through the internet for more of her work but this is the only work I could find.

The top chair is created by weaving wool in and out of the holes in the chair. I like how it doesn't really have a pattern to it. I would have preferred the chair to be completely covered in wool, it doesn't really say wooly chair but I do like the simplicity of it. I love the the bottom chair the seat is covered in wool, it looks so comfy. It literally looks like a ball of yarn with legs and back sticking out of it. It also looks so comfy.

Photobucket

I really like the colours of the wool because wool can be too colourful and overbearing with colour but this is quite mellow and really goes well with the pale wood.

Chou's Chair

Photobucket

me and Charlie always talk about combining out works and calling it Chou (her name, Charlie and my nick name, Rou) and here's an example and kind of out first piece. Charlie did most of the work by actually drawing the image but then I saw the ink was still wet so I printed the chair with the same size paper. I love how it hasn't all come out, and the chair looks like it on fire.

Amber Jay Williams' Chair

Photobucket

I love Amber's drawings, she doesn't draw enough. I remember seeing her drawing about 4 years ago got the first time, she's amazing at drawing women and from her mind. now I have just found she's amazing at creating something into something else. In Milgi Amber started drawing a old fashioned heater and slowly turned it in to a chair. I love the shading too.

looking at every ones images of chairs you can tells who's are who's and you begin to notice individual style.

Charlie's Chairs

Photobucket

Wonderful Charlie's Chairs, I love all Charlies art well anything she does with her hands. These chairs are so cute particularly the first one, it looks like something from Japan (can you see the face on the chair?).

For more information about these chairs (CLICK)

Photobucket

I love this chair, she draw is with yellow for the pillows and black for the legs and back. Something so simple yet so effective, it really does look amazing. I also love how 3D she's made it look.

Photobucket

Another great drawing, well charlie did it you couldn't expect anything else. This chair is meant to be on it's side which I didn't get at first, but she drew a sleeping chair. I love all the different shades and colours, they don't look like there meant to be there but it really works. I also really love the dots on the page, not sure it's meant to be there but again is works.

Malak’s chair.

Photobucket

This was created by Malak, I really love how old the chair looks and it's in a completely different medium from every thing else I've had. I'm guessing brown pencil. I particularly love the legs of the chair and horn like things on the side of the seat. This Chair is beautifully done, I love how it looks quickly coloured in and how one side of the back of the chair is slightly thicker. It's gives the drawing personality.
I'm really surprised of how a lot of these chairs don't have shadowing but still look very 3D.

And again I love the photography of the the paper the shading is wonderful.

Jordan Saville's Chair

Photobucket

This was created by the wonderful Jordan Saville, he promised me he would draw me a chair which I forgot again so it was a wonderful surprised getting a message on Tumblr and finding this drawing drawn just for me. Like a have said about a million times on this blog, I love scribbles and this is an amazing example of a scribbled chair. I love the really thick scribble for the legs and thin scribbles for the seat. Also the chair has a great personality as it looks like it has ears, it reminds me of Gary Lineker. (HA)

I love the actual photograph of it too, the shadowing around the edge is a great effect.

James Thorne's Chair

Photobucket
This was created by James Thorne, I love James he's so sweet. Anyway about the chair, I love how messy it is and the colours in the drawing is very simple but very nice. I also love the whole in the paper (HA).

Jetta Oben's Chair

Photobucket

This is my twin sister's art she did for me, she's always been so negative with art and says she's awful at it but I really love her drawings.  There very expressive and they have great colour on them. I just love both these images, not sure if its because it's my wonderful sister or just because they are amazing drawings.

Photobucket

I think the bottom image is my favorite just because she started off drawing a stack of chairs but then gave up or forgot to draw all the seats.

Clement Williams' Chair

Photobucket

This was created Clement Williams, again I love how simple and playful the image is.  This drawing really reflects Clement's sense of humor, not that I know him at all but he seems to like to take the piss out of things, as I do and love.

Donnie Bridgeman's Chair

Photobucket

I love this chair created by Donnie Bridgeman, when he was drawing it he was saying it looked like a robot girl with out a head and four legs, which is totally true. I normally hate pink but the pink on the black back ground looks futuristic. I love how simple the chair is drawn and from the photography point of view I love the graininess of the paper.

...................................................................................

Megan conway's Chair

Photobucket

Here's another cleverly drawn rocking chair by Megan Conway, another friend of Jetta. I really like how a lot of these drawings aren't right in the center of the page or even covering the whole paper. I love how messily drawn the chair is, and the brown on brown looks amazing.

............................................................................

Dan Helyer's Chair

Photobucket

This was created by Dan Helyer in the ARTiuM the other day. The detail in the chair almost looks like what Van Gogh would have drawn. I love the fact it's a rocking chair, sadly I've only have two rocking chair drawn for you, why didn't I think of a rocking chair? (ha)

Tom Lloyd's Chair

Photobucket

This was created by Tom Lloyd, I love this water colour painting. It's so simply done and yet is so affective. Well I am a sucker for simplicity.

...............................................................................................

Benji Gershon's chair

Photobucket

So we were in the ARTiuM yesterday to get more people to draw for us  a chair. We were sat there for a while asking people to help but every one was to busy, but then this wonderful boy, Benji Gershon walked past and was more then happy to help. Then even better, he started walking around to find friends to help.

I think I made his first image a little ugly because of photoshop but the image of the top looks a lot better in person. I really love how comfy the sofa looks and how cute the little cat is. I also love how playful the bottom image is.

Claire Peddie's chair

Photobucket

This was created by Louise Peddie's sister Claire Peddie. I really like how child like drawing is, it reminds me of something my sister would draw when we were very young.

Thanks Clair, I really appreciate it.

Help from milgi fans

Photobucket

This was created be a girl in Milgi called Louise Peddie, though it's very simple it's very creative. I love how the chairs almost look antique because of the curved legs but then very modern thanks to the minimal details on the chairs.

I didn't get a link for a website from Louise Peddie, but a huge thanks to her for contributing.

Would you like to draw me a chair?

Photobucket

The last few days me and Charlie have been walking around Cardiff trying to get people to draw me a chair, yesterday we didn't do so well because I wasn't really feeling myself but today we did amazingly. I'll be blogging about the art we revived from some wonderful people tomorrow. But if you would like to contribute please draw a chair, any old chair in any medium and I'll get my email to you so you can send it to me.
Thanks to all the people who have been helping, thanks to them my exhibition will look amazing!

Natalia Dias' Chair

Photobucket

This chair was created by Natalia  she is an amazing artist the first time I met her it was at Milgi and she created a beautiful art piece with crack in a wall and a broken mirror and some CD's. She is the new ceramics technician in my uni and when I went to ask he if she would draw for me, she has slip on her hands so she rubbed the slip on to the paper. Though there's no shadow the chair still looks 3D, This is one of my favorites of the drawings I've had drawn for me.

........................................................

Tree Chair

Photobucket

This Chair was carved by some of the 3D students I'm guessing in my uni. It's been there for ages and I only just thought about putting it in my exhibition. I love all the detail of the bark in the stump, and the colour of the grass in the background is amazing. Also obviously Charlie looks amazing in this photo, I don't think the photo would be as interesting with out a figure sitting on the stump. Though I love this images I don't know if it will go well in my exhibition as it doesn't really look like a chair. The bottom images shows its a seat but I'd prefer the top image, I could put both photos up, huummm.

Danny's Chair

Photobucket

Milgi staff are great, this chair was created by Danny Connor, he created it on Photoshop and with a graphics tablet. I love the humor in this piece, the chair looks fed up. Charlie put it quite perfectly, She said the chair was "fed up with its monotonous life". Though if humans wasn't so lazy and didn't want to sit down all the time if wouldn't exist so it needs to stop felling sorry for it's self (ha).  No it's quite clever creating work showing how a chair may feel every day instead of a chair looks like, I like it.

Danny's street style is always very clever and from what I've seen of his work its "my kinda style!" just because there's a lot of skulls, zombies and taking the piss. He's been really helpful with this project, he's advertised it on his blog (http://danny-connor.blogspot.com/) and obviously drew this great piece for me.

Thanks Danny!

Chloë Read's Chair

Photobucket

This was drawn by Chloë Read, looking at her work on her Tumblr this chair is nothing like what she normally draws. This paintings are very colourful and expressionist,  they are all quite beautiful. though saying this you can see the similarities between her work and this chair. They both flow and they are both... well "cute" I hate this word but its the only word I can think of to describe Chloë's work.

I really love this chair it's very child like and I love the blue on the seat and the heart, like a lot of the chairs I've got so far this very simple but very effective.

Charlie Chair Art

Photobucket

This is Charlies work for my chair project. She's been so much help for this project asking every one she knows to help me out too, I can't wait for her to come back from Cornwall too see what she's done over there. I love Charlies drawings, it's so simple but all the lines and two types of ink pen really works well.

My Chair Art

Photobucket

I started painting chairs, these were only quickly done. I'm not a huge fan of these pieces I could do a lot better, I may when I get some more paper.  I think these paintings need to be darker, they were only painted with water colours so they would come out quite light. I may either add some ink to these or just start again and use ink (I like ink).

I had a better idea about putting all the art pieces up, I was thinking of getting sticky pads then sticking pins though the front edges of each work so it looks more modern. also I have about a million pins from doing fashion for 4 years.

Chair art

So I'm starting my own exhibition for a project in uni, and for the museum project I found the room in my university it's huge, dark and has beautiful wooden floors. The only problem is that I now need to fill the walls from head to toe in pictures, paintings, photography and digital work of chairs. So I'm walking every where to find wonderful people to help me out, I've already got my boyfriend, friend and her cousin to draw me some Chairs but I need a lot more.

Charlie created me a poster to help me out which I loved but when I went into Milgi to take a photo of it it was lost with all the other posters on the wall. So I took it down and created a new one which is much more colourful. I think I do like Charlies (bottom photo) a lot more then mine (top photo) but like I said it was lost on the wall with posters of orange and and blue.

I did try to make my hand writing look like charlies  but I think I failed. Oh well it will do the job.

If your interested in sending me your work, please do. I will blog and exhibit every piece of art work I got as long as it's of a chair.

If your interested just comment below.
