Jon Pountney is a Cardiff based photographer, he currently exhibiting 'Cardiff before Cardiff' in the Millenium Centre which you can catch at the moment until the 27th of May.

Jon is a brilliant photographer, he has captured the clutter effect I wanted to show in my exhibition   that I have not been able to achieve in my own photography.  He also got a shot of the one thing I had not noticed in my own exhibition and that every one else had. The Guess Who game had created question mark shadows on the bottle behind it, I've been wanted to take my own photos of this but I think Jon's are much better.

I'm taking the exhibition down tomorrow and I really appreciate every one who came to the exhibition, particularly the ones who took photos.

Thank you.

Here is a short film made by Kristian Brunker, It captures the atmosphere of my exhibition in the warehouse perfectly. I will be moving the exhibition to my university next month, I'm excited to see how the piece will differ in a new space.

Another busy day.

Photobucket

I really can't believe how hard I work sometimes, I know to some people I may seem to be the laziest person alive but when I want something done I will work none stop until I've finished it. Today it took me 8 hours none stop to finish my exhibition and I'm pretty sure I'd still be there now with out loads of help from charlie.

Photobucket

I was getting very tired and frustrated at first with the string as it kept not wanting to fall where I wanted it to or it would knock some other bits of string in a different direction, but two hours in and charlie had made it fun with her white hands and some how getting my finger up her nose as I tried feeding her yogurt raisins. Our friendship knows no boundaries HA.

Photobucket

I'm really pleased with the lighting I have created, with the white-ish walls of Milgi's warehouse the objects looks very eerie which is the effect I wanted to create. So I'm happy with that. We was thinking about painting the walls behind the exhibition but I'm so glad we didn't in the end as I love mess and the colourful, chipping paint works well with the random draping of the string.

Photobucket

Charlie's favorite object, which I really like as well. I'm really happy with the way I hung this shoe, I know it's really simple but I just find it really clever it's staying up because of the tongue. (sounds silly I know). I painted this shoe about 20 times before I thought it was done, because it's a black, fake suede the shoe for ever looks grey. But I got there in the end and I'm very happy with it.

Photobucket

This is my favorite photo of the exhibition, in fact the dolls house and the wheel are my favorite objects out of the millions I just painted and hung all day. After months of painting LOADS of every day objects I was really scared I wouldn't have enough to to exhibit by the end of the day I found out I had far to much. I came home with two huge shopping bags of cans and bottels. Oh well better to have more then less in this case. So The exhibition is open now until the 29th, I'll be in the warehouse from 18:00 until 22:00 every day. So I Hope you see you all soon.

Charlie's drawing.

Photobucket

Charlie draw me drawing on the window yesterday, I love it. She made my bum and leg look great so it's going up as my face book profile picture, HA. My mum spilt blueberry smoothy on to Charlie's drawing, my mum felt really bad but I think it made the drawing even more charlie, as she uses a lot of textures even in her photography. And I think charlie likes it even more and has even added more smoothy to her work.

Milgi Window.

Photobucket

So what have I been doing over this weekend? neglecting my photography job, firstly but also I've been drawing on Milgi's window. I've wanted to draw on it for ages and a few days ago Becky, out of the blue text me and asked me to do it. It came at a great time as well as tomorrow is my exhibition, so for a week Milgi is all about me, or so I like to think, HA.

Photobucket

Charlie took the first two photos on this post, their really funny because they really make me relise I really need to cut my hair. The window took me three days to complete, I finally finished it today, Charlie was very nicely with me every day keeping my company. I drank about 3 latte's a day which I felt quite bad for asking, maybe I should have brought my coffee to keep me awake every day. Oh well the latte's were very good and so was the many slices of cake and curry I ate each day. Milgi food may be the best in the world.

Photobucket

I finished the pen the octopus in holding first, and I have to say I am very proud of it. The ink started to run so I dabbed at it with blue roll and I really like the detail, though this photo doesn't look to great, the real image looks a lot better in person. I also really like the lines on the wood, some being very thin and some being very thick.

Photobucket

My favorite part of the whole drawing has to be the eye of the octopus, its a very friendly eye and has so much detail in it. It is also the first thing I start with when I draw this octopus.

Photobucket

This is the drawing when I have finished today, in person the drawing looks a lot better from the inside of milgi, I like to think it's a little something special for the Milgi fans. though the truth is that it's just because you can see more detail on the inside. But thanks to the lighting in the images the octopus looks better on the outside, I'm going to have to take a photo at night.

Photobucket

And this is the final taken from the outside. Charlie wrote my blog address for me at the bottom of the window, it is her favorite part of the whole window... Thanks Charlie!! HA I do like how much she loves her own work, I wish I have the same enthusiasm towards my own but I just pick at it until I hate it. I try not to look at my work for to long, sadly I've had to look at this for three days, but I'm not going to say all the things I hate about it I'll let you judge it for your self.

Exhibition in Milgi.

Photobucket

Sorry I havent blogging in such a long time, I've been sorting out my exhibition in Milgi for next week. It's all about the scary world of the internet, how no one really knows who their talking to on social networking sites and gamers being addicted to online gaming. I'm inspired by the Sublime and the Everyday, a aim is to create a modern day Sublime art piece.

All I've been doing for the last month is collecting every ones old crap and painting it white. I've always loved white on white but by the end of this exhibition I may get head aches from the sit of even magnolia. =D

Every one and any one is very welcome to the exhibition, so please come, grab and drink from milgi's bar and enjoy yourself.
